About the role:
We are seeking a talented Grounds Supervisor to join the team at Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday – Friday on a day shift work pattern. This position reports to the Asset Manager and is a part of the onsite FM management team. Your role will ensure that the maintenance of the facilities estate meets and exceeds our contractual requirements and these include the areas of turf maintenance, gardening, and arboricultural activities. This is a hands-on role and you will be required to operate machinery including ride-on mowers, general hand and power tools as well as chemical application equipment. You will be conversant in all safety standards and practices, including work method statements and PPE requirements ensuring your team and department are always operating to the highest standards
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or similar
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
- Current C class Drivers Licence
- Construction White Card is desirable
- Chemical Handling Certificate
- Sound knowledge of horticultural best practice, including pest and disease identification
- You will have a good working knowledge and regard to WHS and its systems
